Monday Perspective

Well, the holiday called Thanksgiving is over.  But is thanksgiving over for you?  I hope not.

Remember my recent post about Africa and Mocha Club???  Read on!

When I think of Africa, the following images immediately come to mind:

Child soldiers.

Sex slaves.

From there, my thoughts naturally turn to how I can help, how I can make a difference. “I am needed here,” I think. “They have so little, and I have so much.”

It’s true, there are great tragedies playing out in Africa everyday.  There is often a level of suffering here that is unimaginable until you have seen it, and even then it is difficult to believe.  But what is even harder is reconciling the challenges that many Africans face with the joy I see in the people. It’s a joy that comes from somewhere I cannot fathom, not within the framework that has been my life to this day. [read more]

I was just going to get on here and leave my own comment about how every time I try to get serious and make a difference in the world on my blog, I get no comments! But Sandy came through… Thank you, friend.

I really hope everyone who’s stopped by has taken a minute to watch the video and visit the Mocha Club’s site. They’ve made it SO EASY to afford to help others.

God bless.

Salami, When you post “serious” topics I want to leave a “serious” comment and hence take a little more time to reply. But please know your posts are powerful and effective. I love your heart. Keep it up! 🙂

Brings me back to my time in Africa. Meeting the people will forever change your perspective of everyday life. Although I think you, Annie, have aheart for those who are in need already. God will use you because that is His heart too.
Love you, Mom

I received the ornament!!!! I’m was so excited when I check the mail that I sat in the parking lot of the P.O. and opened it. My daughter was in the backseat saying, “momma home,” over and over. I just kept saying, “hold on, momma got her ornamet,” like she even knew what I was saying. haha Thank you so much and it’s perfect. My husband said, “Man, that’s nice.” So well done!! So fun.
Thanks!! (I tried to find your email link, if there is one, so sorry this is here.)
